The Heart of your Cheer Program: Recruiting your Team

I have been so excited about coaching at a new school for next year. This school has not had a cheer program for a number of years. A group of girls really wanted the school to start a new cheer program and the AD thought there would be at least 8 on the team.

Well, I rolled up my sleeves and started to recruit! I am now pushing 20 cheerleaders at a small private school.

The AD has been blown away by the interest. I have to say that I think I was able to recruit so many because I talked about the Heart of the Cheer program and in doing that, I spoke to their hearts. 

What is at the heart of your cheer program?  If you don't know what the heart of your program is, take a look at this video to find out more so you can best communicate what your cheer program is all about.  

Knowing the heart of your program should be your main recruitment point when looking for cheerleaders on your team.  When you know the heart of the program, you can communicate it in a way that not only generates interest, but inspires your future cheerleaders to be part of something great.
