Max out your Stunting Score at Competitions

Here is how you can max out your stunting score.

1. Use All Members of your Team in Stunts

You need to have at least one flyer up for every four members. If you can add some single bases, that will help you as well.  Do your best to never have front spots, or athletes hanging out in back of a stunt.  Ideally you want all stunt groups to be doing the same skills.  If you are a small team with 12 members and you have two strong stunt groups and the third one is not at the same skill level, put this group in the middle to highlight what the other groups are doing.  It is better to have them up and make something visual, rather than having members of the team standing around.

2. Add a Creative Entry

Add a creative entry to set up your stunt, such as a look or hand clap.  Show that you are set and ready.

3. Add Inversions

You need to put inversions in your routine!  Inversions add creativity and they are not very difficult to do!

4. Drill Flyer Technique

Flyers need to pin their arms and legs.  All motions need to be sharp and leg positions need to hit sharp and strong. Your flyers need to all load into the stun the same way. Bases need to drive the flyer up quickly to the top of the stunt.

5. Add Creative and Clean Dismounts

Make sure you use all the members of your team throughout your routine.  This is a team effort and you don’t want to just highlight a few of your star athletes.  Judges want to see that your entire team has skills.

6. Add Single Based Stunts

Whether or not you are co-ed, single based stunts will always give you a higher difficulty score!

7. Always Compete with Clean Stunts

It is always better to hit your stunts than to have a high level of difficulty and have shaky stunts. Be clean and master each stunt before you progress.  Simplify your stunts if necessary.
