Get Cheer Coach Organized

CCA asked our coaches:

What are your best tips to get organized as a cheer coach?

Whether you want to have all of your coaching materials in a good old fashioned binder, or if you want to have all your coaching resources in the Cloud, here is what you need handy.

  • Contact information of your athlete and parents
  • Attendance sheets
  • Team Handbook
  • Calendar
  • Emergency information for each athlete including health insurance information, allergies and other medical information.
  • Emergency plan
  • List of cheers
  • Game plans
  • Uniform inventory

You will always physically need your first aid kit, speaker, iPod, signs, poms and megaphones.

Electronic and Online Programs

A number of online programs exist where you can keep everything in the Cloud.  This is just a short list, but there are many other options.

Google Drive - set up a folder for you as a coach, but also have a team folder.  This is where you can keep all your information. You can also put our videos and music in folders.  Set up a folder for pictures and memories that your athletes and parents can contribute.

Google Classroom - You can take Google Drive a step further and organize everything in a classroom format including giving “assignments”.

BAND - gives you the opportunity to keep track of attendance, set up calendars and post videos and pictures.  You can also send notifications.  Other apps you can use are TeamSnap and GroupMe.
